The beaches in Instagram

Left Bangkok from the busy Southern Bus Station and arrived at Railay Beach the next day.

The Atlanta

During my last stay in Bangkok, Patrick and I holed up in the Atlanta.  In the hotel's own words:

This is the place you are looking for - if you know it; if you don't, you will never find it.

Maintaining it's original decor from the early 1900's, the hotel has been a haven to the non-sleazy tourist  and struggling artist.

Last days in Ko Lanta

We ended our days down south on Ko Lanta.  Hopping off the ferry we rented a little scooter and rode down to the tip of the island.  We found a secluded little mountain side bungalow overlooking the azure waters and uninhabited beach.

I took in the sunset on our last night, filled with bittersweet emotions.  The weeks spent exploring the southern beaches was an experience I never imagined having.  Sorrowful thoughts of never returning to this beautiful place flooded my mind, while I also couldn't help but think about my next adventure: Ankor Wat.

The morning we left, Patrick snapped this photo.  I feel it captures the peace and calm we felt while staying on Ko Lanta.

Cribbage and Cocktails

There are times in your life when you look around and wonder "How did I get here?"

This happened when Patrick and I jumped onto a small long tail boat and headed around the island to Relax Beach (literally- so dorky).  Staying in a picturesque, off the grind bungalow, overlooking the ocean, we quickly fell into vacation bliss.

We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the beach.

We splurged on ridiculously delicious fresh fruit cocktails made by the thirteen year old bartender.

And spent our afternoons playing cribbage.

Runtee Beach

After hiking to the top of Phi Phi, Patrick and I decided to test our luck by choosing a random trail down to an unknown beach on the other side of the island.  After a little bit of eeny-meeny-miny-moe we decided to follow the arrow toward Runtee.

We chose wisely.

After spending the rest of the day on a secluded, pristine beach, we peeled our bodies off the white sand and trudged back up over the hill to take in the debauchery of Phi Phi's night life.
